The RI/MA southcoast region is a treasure trove of small farms and micro-growers a few of which specialize in native plants. Two of these smaller enterprises are coming to Plant Fair for the first time. Butterfly Effect Farm, a native plant nursery in Westport, Ma, carries native straight species from New England. They grow 300 different varieties of native plants organically, that are mostly seed grown with seed locally sourced. Plant Community is a native plant nursery located in East Greenwich RI. They grow plug and quart-sized plants from locally-sourced seed within our ecoregion. They’ll be bringing along some Allegheny Monkeyflower and Eastern Red Columbine and more.
