Today we peek behind the curtain of two marvelous local growers. First is Sean Conway (Sean Conway) – celebrated landscape designer who generally only grows for wholesale but is a Plant Fair staple. This year he’s bringing an eclectic mix of plants including an assortment of perennials, unusual annuals, tender perennials, and topiary. Among your choices will be dwarf pelargoniums, delicate abutilons, and a glorious blue salvia that charmed many at last year’s fair. Next up is one of our analog vendors- (no insta) Chris Faria of Fieldstone Gardens is a Little Compton landscape architect who continues a family tradition of growing reliable landscape beauties. His roadside cart on Peckham Rd. is a treasure trove- with hellebores, native columbine, unique varieties of hostas, bergenia, actae, thalictrum, and many other surprises!! The 5th Annual Sakonnet Plant Fair takes place at 3 Meetinghouse Lane in Little Compton RI on May 2nd. Doors open at 9 AM rain or shine.
